.... Dr. Tony Johnson here to answer some of your questions about Fiproguard. I've been a practicing veterinarian for more than 15 years, and this is one of the biggest steps forward I've seen. Fiproguard is a generic equivalent of Frontline Top Spot, but some of you have asked me how the two products are different. Well, first and foremost, Fibroguard is a generic, but what does that really mean? In the veterinary world, we recommend generic medications when possible to reduce the cost of keeping a pet healthy. You probably use generic medications for yourself or your family as well. Generics have to have the same active ingredients, at the same concentrations, as the brand-name product. Inactive ingredients can vary slightly, but this doesn't alter the effectiveness or safety of the product. As a generic, Fiproguard is available at a lower cost than Frontline Top Spot. It's also convenient, because you can buy it at your favorite pet specialty retailer; a place you might normally shop for pet food or other supplies. Of course, you'll still want to take your dog or cat for their usual veterinary checkups, but if it's more convenient to buy your flea and tick treatments while you're doing other regular shopping each month, you now have that option. Finally, be sure you always read the package instructions carefully when using any flea and tick product at home. How and when you apply any topical flea and tick product is really important. This is the same advice your veterinarian would give you if you applied Frontline Top Spot or any other topical product at home. And that's about it. Enjoy your Fiproguard.
