These are the parts you will find in your box, the filter, the micron cartridge and core, the carbon media container and lid, the intake tube, the strainer, the outlet tube and spit flow diffuser, the leveling clip. Lift coverlock, swings spring latch downward and remove cover. Remove internal flow difuser, center exhaust tube, and carbon media container. Remove blue sleeve. Remove container cover. Fill both sides of container half full of black diamond carbon media. Replace container cover. Rinse thoroughly. Replace right size filter sleeve on container. Put container and exhaust tube back into filter. Install internal flow difuser back into filter. Attach exhaust gasket onto cover and fill with aquarium water. Replace filter cover and raise cover lock to engage spring latch. Snap spring latch into groove and push coverlock down to close and seal filter canister. Install outlet tube into the opening labeled out and turn the outlet flow around so it will face into the open area in your tank. Attach strainer intake tube and install into the opening labeled in. Attach the leveling clip onto the bottom of the filter. Hang on the tank wall with outlet and intake tubes submerged in the tank water and the main filter body on the outside of the tank. Plug-in and turn on. The setup was done dry, but Marineland encourages you to use water for your filter to run effectively from startup.
