It's wonderful to have a furry friend to greet and love you each time you come home. But it isn't always so nice to deal with the smell and maintenance of a traditional cat litter box. At PetSafe, we've developed a safe and innovative automatic litter system that will solve all your litter worries. Our Simply Clean litter box system is safer, more environmentally friendly, more innovative, and has less maintenance than any other automatic litter system currently on the market. The Simply Clean has no exposed moving parts which helps prevent injury of you and your pet. The system requires no disposable trays or plastic bins to throw away. In addition, it uses less litter. The conveyor design will not get stuck or caked with litter like traditional rake based systems. Take the Simply Clean litter box system out of the box, and remove all excess packaging material. Set the litter box on a firm, flat surface. Remove the screws from the center of the litter bowl and the top of the conveyor system. Lift the conveyor system to the upright position. The litter guard has a small plastic tab at one end that fits under the lid of the litter bowl. Attach the litter guard to the litter bowl, allowing the notch on the litter guard to fit under the conveyor system. Lower the conveyor system, and now attach the two screws. Lower the litter flap into the down position. Make sure the post in the litter cover aligns properly with the hole in the conveyor system. Align the conveyor cover with the conveyor system and snap it into place. Use a recycled plastic shopping bag to line the waste receptacle. Insert the lined waste receptacle into the Simply Clean litter box system. Choose the location for your Simply Clean litter box that's near a standard wall outlet. A coordinating litter mat is available to keep the area around your litter bowl extra clean. Find the designated fill line within the litter bowl. Fill the Simply Clean litter box to the fill line with premium, clumping, scoopable cat litter. Once it's full, spread the litter around, making sure to get underneath the conveyor system. Do not let the litter fall below the fill line. Now, plug the AC adapter into the Simply Clean litter box. The green light should illuminate. The Simply Clean litter box system makes one complete rotation per hour. To confirm that your system is working properly, take two pieces of tape. Place one piece of tape on the base of the unit; place the second piece of tape on the bowl of the unit. After several minutes, the two pieces of tape should be several inches apart. Some cats may require an acclamation period to get accustomed to the new litter box. Here are a few tips to help with the transition: Place your cat's new Simply Clean litter box system next to your cat's existing litter box. Allow your cat to have access to both the old and the new litter boxes for at least a week. This time may vary based on the temperament of your cat. Although the Simply Clean litter box system is extremely quiet while running, you may want to leave the system unplugged for a few days to allow your cat to have the opportunity to use the litter box without any distractions. Allow your cat's old litter box to remain dirty. Cats prefer a clean litter box, and this will make the new Simply Clean litter box system more appealing. To ensure that litter doesn't stick to the inside of the bowl, it may help to spray it with nonstick cooking spray. To reduce odor, it may also help to add some clean litter in your recycled bag before placing it in the litter box system. We know your cat is going to love the new Simply Clean automatic litter box system; and we also know that you'll both love having more free time to spend together now that you're not cleaning a litter box.
