The background cling is designed to fit to multiple tanks sizes. Therefore, it may need to be trimmed to fit to your specific tank size. To determine the amount to trimmed, hold the cling up to the tank. Mark the area needing to be trimmed and cut off the excess.
Cling can be easily cut with scissors or a utility knife. You may need to moisten the cling or the tank surface with a damp cloth prior to installation if you live in a dry climate.
Slowly peel the background cling from its paper backing. Align and press the top corners of the background cling with the top corners of your tank. Steadily move your hands in an even downward motion to press down the remaining cling. Pressing the background cling down evenly will help eliminate air bubbles or creases. A credit card can be used as a squeegee to help smooth down the material.
Some tanks are manufactured with an opening from the front. To compensate for this style of opening, there is a removable opening shape at the center of the top, long border. If your tank has this opening in the front, be sure to apply the top border with the removable rectangle shape to the top, border frame of the tank.
Use scissors or a utility knife to carefully cut along the indention made along the opening.
You can align and cut the borders to size to fit the tank or you can overlap the border pieces as you place them on.
Carefully peel individual accent pieces from the paper backing. You may stick the accent pieces anywhere you desire on your tank. Accent pieces are easily movable and reusable at will.
